Millennium Middle School
When the new Millennium Middle School opens in the fall of 2018 students, teachers, and administration from Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS) will be grinning ear to ear. Located adjacent to SCPS’s Midway Elementary School off S.R. 46, the 222,400 square-foot campus consists of a new three-story classroom building, administration/media building, cafeteria, gymnasium and 800-seat performing arts center in support of the school’s Fine Arts & Communication curriculum. Outdoor athletic facilities include a multi-purpose field and track, tennis and basketball courts.
The new campus will replace the existing middle school and accommodate approximately 2,066 students. The buildings feature block and brick construction (74 miles of brick!) with large expansive glass windows for maximum daylight and are equipped with hand-on learning technologies to create a 21st century learning environment. The new school is being built from a prototype designed by SchenkelShultz Architecture.
