UCF Wayne Densch Center for Student-Athlete Leadership
Located next to UCF’s award-winning Bright House Networks Stadium (also built by Wharton-Smith) the new Wayne Densch Center for Student-Athlete Leadership serves as the headquarters for student-athlete personnel, and professional and academic development. The three-story, 21,700 s.f. athletic facility was delivered design-build using tilt wall construction and includes offices, computer labs, conference space, a multi-purpose classroom for up to 200 students, mentoring rooms, study space, resource rooms, and a two-story open lobby. The Center houses UCF’s Student-Athlete Leadership Institute, Academic Services for Student-Athletes, Student Services and Compliance departments, while also providing operations space to serve more than 500 student-athletes.
The project was designed and built for LEED Certification incorporating such sustainability measures as low VOC, recycled materials, a high reflective roof, utility metering, and low E windows.
