On May 8, representatives from Wharton-Smith, GameTime, and Seminole County Public Schools celebrated with the Pre-K students at Layer Elementary School at the unveiling of their new playground shade structure. See photos.

Wharton-Smith funded and assembled the shade structure, donating it to the school so Pre-K students and teachers could enjoy their playground without worrying about the Florida sun.

“The Wharton-Smith team was so professional and incredibly generous with building a shade structure at our school,” said Layer Elementary Principal Lindsay Todd. “This shading has already made an impact on our Pre-K students as they play together each day. We are lucky to have amazing community partners who value education! Thank you to the whole team for your willingness to support Layer Elementary.”

“It was a real honor to work with Principal Todd and the Layer staff to deliver this much-needed shade structure to the Pre-K students,” said Senior Project Manager Curtis Matte. “The gratification of cheering and smiling students emphasizes one of the many reasons for living out the phrase “we build communities.”
