On July 3, Wharton-Smith hosted a subcontractor appreciation luncheon at the City of DeLand Utilities Administration Building, a brand new, hardened facility that will replace the current administration building located within the public works campus. Subcontractors were treated to project t-shirts and a delicious catered lunch by Brian’s Bar-B-Q, a local DeLand restaurant. See photos.
“We appreciate the exceptional quality and attention to detail that all of the subcontractors have brought to this job,” said Project Manager Duncan Graham. “It’s been great working with each of them, and we’re looking forward to a strong finish over the next couple of months.”
The 24,000 SF two-story office building is made up of concrete tilt-wall panels and features a decorative glass exterior staircase, a fitness center, and a full kitchen. The project is expected to be finished later this fall. In addition to the administration building, Wharton-Smith is also performing simultaneous improvements and upgrades to the existing wastewater plant on the same site.
