On January 24, Wharton-Smith joined the School District of Osceola County and Schenkel Shultz to officially break ground on the brand-new, state-of-the-art “AAA” high school. See photos.
The 345,000 SF campus will hold 2,500 student stations and serve the expanding St. Cloud, FL, area. It comprises classrooms, a gymnasium, a cafeteria, sports fields, administration buildings, and trade programs. The three-story buildings, built due to the smaller 46-acre site, are uniquely designed to match more of an urban, college-like campus. The school is intended to help with overcrowding at Harmony and St. Cloud High Schools. It will become the county’s ninth traditional public high school.
“The construction of AAA High School is a reflection of our dedication to meeting the needs of our growing community,” said SDOC Superintendent Dr. Mark Shanoff. “With its innovative design, energy efficiency, and advanced facilities, this campus will offer students a learning environment that fosters success and prepares them for the challenges of tomorrow.”
The project will be completed in Summer 2026.
