On May 8, representatives from Wharton-Smith, the Columbia County Economic Development Department, and the Lake City-Columbia County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the North Florida Mega Industrial Park Wastewater Treatment Plan ribbon cutting. See photos.

The North Florida Mega Industrial Park (NFMIP) is a 2,600-acre super site near the Florida/Georgia border. The new wastewater plant has an initial capacity of 0.5 MGD, with the ability to expand up to 3.0 MGD in the future. The project scope encompassed a new influent pump station, headworks, storage tanks, chlorine contact basins, administrative buildings, and additional facilities.

The event, scheduled during the Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Development Week, marked a significant milestone for the NFMIP as it seeks to attract interested businesses to the area. The plant will serve as the primary treatment facility for the Industrial Park, as well as supporting Lake City and the expanding east side of Columbia County.

Congratulations to the entire project team on a job well done!
