Billy Logan was promoted to the Director of Operations in July 2023, after serving as Area Manager from April of 2022. Prior to this, he served as an Executive for the Tampa and Fort Myers area. His primary role has been in Water. With nearly 20 years of construction experience, Billy provides oversight for projects on the West Coast of Florida, stretching between the Tampa and the Fort Myers offices. He oversees managers and provides guidance and mentorship for the teams in these areas to ensure the budget and schedule are maintained. Additionally, Billy and his teams focus on client relationships to help retain the Wharton-Smith culture and reputation on the West Coast of Florida. Billy has 19 years of Water construction experience, and 17 of those years are with Wharton-Smith. His roles within the company have included: Intern, Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Executive Project Manager, and in April of 2022, he became an Area Manager. Billy graduated from the University of South Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. In 2008, Billy received the Project Manager Academy Certificate from FMI. And in 2020, he earned his DBIA Certification and became a Design-Build Professional. Billy is a huge advocate of getting involved in the community. He was part of the Wharton-Smith volunteer team that built a handicap-accessible garden area for the Hillsborough County Development Center that included: pavers, a gazebo, elevated garden boxes, and lattice fencing. Billy and his wife enjoy all the sporting events Tampa has to offer, including season tickets to the Buccaneers. They also attend several games for the Lightning and Rays during the year. Billy lives in Odessa, Florida, with his wife. They have lived in the Tampa Bay area for more than 25 years.
