Cass Hurst

Cass recently joined Wharton-Smith in May 2023 as Business Development Executive for the Commercial Division. With over 30 years in program and project management, Cass is now primarily focused on business development efforts for the Commercial Division at Wharton-Smith.  He leverages his decades of project experience and well-established, strong working relationships with clients and team members to help grow market share and support leadership and staff in achieving Wharton Smith’s vision – to be the Construction Group of Choice. Before joining Wharton-Smith, Cass worked as an Owner’s Representative, Project Manager, and Program Manager on several large building programs in Florida and Tennessee. Cass has extensive project and program management experience, including the successful completion of three school building programs in Florida (Palm Beach, Miami-Dade, and Orange), the Florida Marlins Baseball Stadium, hotel projects in Florida, the Nashville Main and Branch Library Program, and the State of Tennessee Capital Projects Program. Cass holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from Clemson University. He resides in Winter Park, Florida, with his wife, Kim, and is the proud father of two children, Beau and Sarah. In his free time, Cass is an avid rower and high-handicap golfer.
