Ed Sly joined Wharton-Smith in 1993 as a pipe fitter working his way up through the ranks over the last two decades from Foreman to General Superintendent. He spent the years between 1981 and 1993 developing his broad set of construction skills sets. Currently, Ed serves as a General Superintendent and oversees all other superintendents and their workforces for water operations in the Carolina, Gulf Coast, and Southwest Florida Regions. He is responsible for maintaining a well-trained and qualified work force and for maximizing allocation of manpower, tools, and equipment between jobsites. Ed is responsible for all field and site coordination and assists with monitoring safety, quality, and production planning. With over 37 years of construction experience, Ed has overseen every phase of construction and project management. He is passionate about safety, efficiency, and training and is a wonderful mentor to his site workforce. Ed makes his home in Crystal River, Florida, where he lives with his wife, Cheryl Ann and his two Weimaraners, Hogan and Sailor. Ed enjoys spending his off hours fishing and riding his motorcycle in the mountains.
