GENERAL SUPERINTENDENT, WATER

Howard Gates joined Wharton-Smith in 1994 following 10 years of running his own construction business. Currently, Howard serves as a General Superintendent and oversees all other superintendents and their workforces in the Orlando Water Division. He is responsible for maintaining a well-trained and qualified work force and for maximizing allocation of manpower, tools, and equipment between jobsites. Howard is responsible for all field and site coordination and assists with monitoring safety, quality, and production planning. With over 32 years of experience in the construction industry, Howard has experience in all phases of construction and project management. He is also a Florida State Certified Building Contractor. His time in the field has solidified a passion for our work force, and he is focused on worker retention and job satisfaction. Howard believes in upholding a fair, consistent, and competitive wage scale for craft workers and ensuring they have mentorship to help them move to the next level in their career.
