Wharton-Smith provided general contracting services for the new multi-purpose senior center constructed to replace a two-story facility destroyed during Hurricane Katrina. Operated by the New Orleans Council on Aging, the 10,000 square-foot Center features an exercise room, dining lounge and patio, computer library room, conference room, and commercial grade kitchen.
Funded by FEMA recovery dollars and City bond funds, the completion of the project is an important step in restoring the Carrollton Hollygrove neighborhood and marks a milestone in the District’s recovery and forward momentum.
