Wharton-Smith is currently providing Construction Management Services to Orange County Public Schools on the 11 month Comprehensive Needs Project at Hillcrest Elementary School. This project consists of replacing the existing buildings (1 & 2), the PE Pavilion, and the renovation of Building 3 to provide improved facilities which meet Orange County Public School’s Design Guidelines, Standards, and assigned educational program requirements. Wharton-Smith has identified all life safety, fire, accessibility code deficiencies and maintenance issues, which are also being corrected within the scope of this project. The newly remodeled facilities will accommodate 500 student stations with a core capacity of 650 students. The newly built buildings 1 & 2 will include classrooms, skills/resource labs, administration, art/music, warming kitchen, dining/ multi-purpose room, support spaces and a 52,000 s.f. media center. An on-site garage structure will be built to accommodate approximately 130 parking spaces as well.
