Wharton-Smith provided construction management services for a new single-story 125,000 s.f. elementary school campus in a quickly developing area in Brevard County. Viera, FL has had quite an impressive amount of home development and growth, and the new elementary school is needed to support all of the new homes being completed in the area. The Viera Area Elementary School campus is a prototype campus from Architects RZK, Inc. that has been used several times in Brevard County, but a new campus has not been built in over a decade.

The campus will include all of the spaces seen in a new elementary school with classrooms, media centers, multi-purpose dinging/kitchen, resource classrooms, and administration/office space. It will also include all of the associated features of the modern campus, including infrastructure to support 1-to-1 computers for students, touch screen TVs for teachers/teaching walls, infrastructure for future solar power panels and more.
