Sanford, FL – January 5, 2017 – Wharton-Smith, Inc., one of Central Florida’s largest locally based general contractors, was recently selected as Construction Manager for the Seminole County Public Schools’ new Millennium Middle School project. Located on State Road 46, just east of Sanford, and adjacent to Midway Elementary School, the new school campus will consist of 222,400 square feet and accommodate just over 2,000 students. Five new buildings will be constructed – administration/media, academic, cafeteria, gymnasium, and an 800-seat performing arts center – as well as expansion to the existing central energy plant. The $43 million project is expected to be complete in time for the 2018-2019 school year. SchenkelShultz Architecture is the architect.
