Wharton-Smith team members joined Harrison County School District leaders, elected officials, and Hardy Architect and Associates to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new West Harrison Middle School.

The project team is constructing a 118,600-square-foot school with 48 classrooms, administration area, band hall, gymnasium, and practice fields for softball, baseball, and football. The $26 million project will also include advanced technology in ICT classrooms, Smartboards in every classroom, and security features.

The school is scheduled to open August of 2021. It is estimated to have an initial enrollment of 750 students.
