In November 2021, the Northwest Regional Water Reclamation Facility Expansion team received two national awards from theย Design-Build Institute of Americaย (DBIA) โ the National Award of Merit and the Best in Process. The cornerstone of Hillsborough County, Florida’s wastewater treatment consolidation program, the $193 million Northwest Regional Water Reclamation Facility expansion from 10 MGD to 30 MGD, is the largest capital improvement project in County history. Through innovative design and proactive community engagement, the design-build team resolved challenges and achieved regional sustainability goals by restoring wetlands, improving system reliability, and improving quality of life.
