Tom Widener promoted to Director of Operations for Central and East Coast Florida

Orlando, FL – Wharton-Smith Construction Group announced the promotion of Tom Widener to Director of Operations for Central and East Coast Florida Commercial Divisions.

In his new role, Mr. Widener will provide daily leadership for Central & East Coast Florida Commercial Operations and will oversee the Commercial Operations, new work initiatives, and client development for the Central and East Coast of Florida, including Wharton-Smith offices in Jupiter, Sanford, and Merritt Island.

Mr. Widener has more than 25 years of construction industry experience. He joined Wharton-Smith in 1997 as a CADD Technician and since has held positions from Project Engineer to Project Executive.

Throughout his career, Mr. Widener has established strong working relationships with clients, team members, and community leaders. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Leadership Seminole and is the Chairman of the Board for the Academy of Construction Technologies. He is involved in other community and industry organizations such as the ACE Mentor Program, Associated Builders and Contractors, Leadership Orlando, and Habitat for Humanity.
