Wharton-Smith Construction Group announces the hire of George Novo
Orlando, FL – Wharton-Smith Construction Group is pleased to welcome George Novo to the Wharton-Smith team as Senior Project Manager – Central Florida Commercial Division, reporting to Darin Crafton, Executive Vice President of Commercial Operations.
Mr. Novo brings over 24 years of experience in Commercial Construction in the Central Florida market with a heavy focus on K-12 and Higher Education projects. By working in roles ranging from Project Engineer to Senior Project Manager, Mr. Novo has become well-rounded in the industry and will provide valuable insight to upcoming projects at Wharton-Smith.
As a Senior Project Manager for Wharton-Smith, Mr. Novo will be responsible for the coordination of project management personnel and operations for the construction of Secondary Education, K-12, and Higher Education projects. Mr. Novo will begin his new role by providing oversight to the upcoming Lake Howell High School Additions and Renovations Project for Seminole County Public Schools.
In addition to his professional experience, Mr. Novo holds bachelor’s degrees in both Civil Engineering and Architectural Engineering from the University of Miami, a master’s degree in Construction Engineering & Management from Texas A&M University, and is a LEED Accredited Professional.

Mr. Novo resides in Seminole County with his wife and two children. He is an avid triathlete and plans to complete his fourteenth Ironman race later this year in Hawaii.
