“It has been an honor and privilege to lead this company as President and CEO for nearly two decades, and I am pleased to pass the President torch to Tim Smith, as he joins me in guiding the company into its next chapter,” said Ron Davoli. “During my career at Wharton-Smith, I have watched as this company has grown and developed into one of the Southeast’s most respected construction firms. It was under the tutelage of George Smith, one of our founders, that I gained the experience and skills that have led us through the last two decades. It is my profound privilege to work alongside Tim Smith, as he prepares to shape our next two decades,” Davoli continued. “This transaction could not come at a better time for the company, as our organization is delivering strong performance across both our water and commercial segments and is positioned for continued success,” said Davoli.
Two additional promotions were announced by the company today in the naming of Pat Hewitt as COO of Water/Wastewater and Darin Crafton as COO of Commercial. “Much of our success over the last years must be attributed to Pat Hewitt and Darin Crafton who have dramatically grown their market segments in both size and profitability. I am proud of all they have achieved and excited about where they will take us in their new roles,” said Mr. Davoli.
“I am honored to serve as Wharton-Smith’s next President,” said Mr. Smith. “Our Company has been working throughout the Southeast to build the communities that we all call home, and I am excited about continuing the legacy that Ron Davoli, Bill Wharton, and my father, George Smith, forged over the last 38 years. I have had the pleasure to work among these unparalleled mentors throughout my career at Wharton-Smith, and it is an honor to continue to grow the vision they have nurtured and prepare us for the growth and change we will face in the coming years,” said Tim Smith.
