Once again, all Wharton-Smith regions have been named an Accredited Quality Contractor (AQC) by the Associated Builders and Contractors. AQC members “proudly set the construction industry standard as high performing, ethical contractors and members of their communities.”

AQC status is determined by a stringent and thorough set of criteria demonstrating a commitment to five key areas of corporate responsibility. Annual recertification is required to ensure all participants uphold and maintain the rigorous set of AQC standards, including:

  1. Quality
  2. Safety (ABC STEP Gold, Platinum, or Diamond level required)
  3. Talent management
  4. Craft and management education
  5. Community relations, inclusion, diversity, and equity

“Accredited Quality Contractors set the standard in the contracting community in safety, culture, workforce development, innovation, diversity, and quality,” said 2022 ABC National Chair Board of Directors Stephanie Schmidt. “Daily, the leaders and employees of Wharton-Smith commit to the highest level of corporate and community achievement.”
