On Nov. 15, Wharton-Smith team members joined with County Commissioners, fire officials, and retired firefighters for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Fire Station No. 2 in Charlotte County. The station was dedicated to fallen firefighter Charles Allison and his family.

The original event was postponed due to Hurricane Ian. “Station 2 was thoroughly tested thanks to Hurricane Ian,” Jason Fair, Public Safety Director for Charlotte County Emergency Services, said. “We were able to keep crews here, apparatus here, and with that, as soon as the storm had passed, we were able to serve the community immediately. That was a massive improvement to where we were before.”

“Thank you to our Wharton-Smith team, all of our subcontractors, and Charlotte County officials who worked diligently to build this fire station to the highest standards,” John Carlson, Senior Project Manager, said.
