Each year, the Central Florida Chapter of ABC recognizes and celebrates outstanding projects built by its members, and the Chapter’s highest recognition is the Eagle Award. Two Wharton-Smith projects received an Eagle award this year at a gala held at the Hilton Orlando.
Horizon High School received the Eagle Award.
Lake Pointe Academy K-8 received an Award of Merit
TWA Western Reuse Storage and Pumping Facility received the Eagle Award.
Congratulations to all of the team members involved.
“The projects recognized during this awards banquet overcame all of the manpower and supply chain delays associated with Covid,” said Larry Sease, Project Executive. “It is quite an accomplishment to be recognized for quality work while working through a worldwide pandemic.”
Judging Criteria
The Excellence in Construction Awards Committee recruited over 50 architects, engineers, contractors, and development professionals to serve as judges this year. Over 32 teams of judges toured each local project entered or met with the contractors’ representatives for presentations.
The project entries are judged on design execution, craftsmanship quality, attention to detail, proper installation, outstanding planning, coordination efforts, challenges successfully overcome, project complexity, custom materials, safety programs, and owner satisfaction.
