Tim Smith Named President and CEO of Wharton-Smith Construction Group
April 3, 2023 – Sanford, FL – Wharton-Smith Construction Group announces promotion of Tim Smith to President and CEO.
It has been an extraordinary honor and privilege to have been given the opportunity to serve as leader of this great company. I’ve spent two decades alongside our team members and partners to build thriving communities impacting people’s lives, from fire stations to schools, water plants, and playing fields. I am pleased to pass the torch to President and now CEO Tim Smith as he guides the company into its next chapter,” said Ron Davoli. As Tim Smith assumes the helm, Ron Davoli will transition to Chairman of the Board.

About Tim Smith
In 1984, at age 16, Tim Smith joined Wharton-Smith, starting at the bottom, and learning his way up the ladder through college, earning full-time employment in 1991. During nearly 40 years of incredible growth and change, he has served the company in many roles — Laborer, Field Engineer, Estimator, Project Engineer, Project Manager, Project Executive, Quality Control Director, Vice President, Executive Vice President, and President. Tim holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Auburn University and a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Central Florida. Tim is a Professional Engineer and a licensed General Contractor.
