On September 18, Wharton-Smith team members in the Carolinas Office came together for a Subcontractor Appreciation Lunch in Salisbury, North Carolina. This special event was an expression of gratitude to the outstanding subcontractors who have played a pivotal role in the success of the West End Plaza Project so far. All 85 in attendance also had a chance to win one of several raffle prizes given away during the festivities.
Ron Wagoner, Senior Project Manager, said, “We wanted to give a heartfelt thank you to all of the individuals who have gone above and beyond to get us to where we are, which is currently two months ahead of schedule!”.
The West End Plaza is expected to be completed in the summer of 2024.
About the Project:
West End Plaza is an 82,000-sf renovation and adaptive re-use project, including the exterior facade and interior conversion of part of the county-owned Salisbury Mall from retail to new offices and a 1000-seat conference center. Wharton-Smith is currently converting a section of the mall concourse and adjacent retail space, as well as the former Belk store, into a new County Agricultural Center that will serve as the home for agricultural agencies such as Rowan County Cooperative Extension, Forestry Service, Soil & Water Conservation and the U.S. Farm Service Agency.
