On October 20, Wharton-Smith team members gathered for the Sixth Annual Tom Murphy Kickball Tournament at Soldiers Creek Park Complex.

The players were given t-shirts and bandanas to match their team colors as they arrived. Then they enjoyed food hot off the grill and ice-cold drinks. Kimberly Savallo and Rick Bundy opened the festivities by greeting the crowd and laying out the game rules.

Next, four coed teams – led by Alex Edwards (Green Team), Logan Sleight (Red Team), Daniel Barns (Blue Team), and Kimberly Savallo (Orange Team) – showed off their kickball skills during a single-elimination tournament. Marking a historic first, this year saw the introduction of dedicated umpires for each game, with Tom Murphy, retired Wharton-Smith Vice President – Operations, and Joe Abel, retired Seminole County Interim Manager, stepping into these pivotal roles. The Green team won in the final game between Green and Orange.
