On November 13, Wharton-Smith Commercial and Water teams in North Central Florida participated in the inaugural “No Matter How You Say It, Hunger Hurts” food drive in Sumter and Marion County.
Donations were collected at both The Villages job site trailer in Middleton and the Bay Laurel job site trailer in Ocala, leading to around 600 pounds of goods being donated to the Lake Panasoffkee Elementary food pantry to help feed local children and families in need this holiday season.
Denise Hatton, Operations Coordinator for the Villages and Bay Laurel NWRF, coordinated the drive and looks forward to carrying on this effort as an annual tradition. “Thanks to all the donations from outside sources, my co-workers, and a special shout out to the superintendents I work with on these projects who gave so generously,” Denise said. “You guys ROCK!”
