On May 30, representatives from the Osceola County Corrections Department, County staff, Osceola Engineering, and Wharton-Smith joined to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Correctional Facility’s new utility corridor. See photos.
The over $10m project will provide site renovations and infrastructure replacements to complete a loop road and support future planned construction for the Corrections Facility.
“Our relationship with Osceola County goes back 25 years,” said Project Executive Rick Bundy. “We’ve developed a strong relationship, and it takes working together as a team to make the job successful.”
“This is something we can all be proud of,” said Osceola County Corrections Deputy Chief Yuberky Almonte. “It’s going to be a tough road ahead, but you know I’m looking forward to the challenge. And I’m looking forward to the fact that we have all been together from day one on how we accomplished this.”
Construction is slated to be finished in May 2025.
