For the second year in a row, Senior Operations Coordinator Denise Hatton has taken the lead in coordinating a massively successful school supply drive. This year, bringing together the Wharton-Smith teams at The Villages Town Center and Bay Laurel North Water Reclamation projects to support the students and teachers at Dunnellon Elementary School in Marion County.
The donations flooded in! An entire cubicle was needed to store the supplies before being delivered. These essential supplies will allow students and teachers to begin the new school year on a path to success.
“Denise took the school’s motto, Together Everyone Achieves More, to heart,” Ed MacLeod, Senior Project Manager, said. “She brought projects from the commercial and water business units together to achieve a common goal. In doing so, the community of Marion County greatly benefited, and Wharton-Smith continues to have a positive impact on the communities we serve.”
A huge thanks for the generosity of the Wharton-Smith team of employees working at The Villages and Bay Laurel project sites. We also want to thank VMG Construction, Weston Coatings, Schaal Glass, Sterling Enterprises, Pacesetter Personnel, and Unified Labor for their donations.
