On July 15, for a second year in a row, Operations Coordinators from Palm Beach Gardens’ two Business Units joined together to pack more than a thousand backpacks filled with essential school supplies for students at West Riviera Elementary and Berkshire Elementary!
Two weeks later, on August 1, another dedicated team from Wharton-Smith was on hand to assist in delivering four pallets of backpacks to Lincoln Elementary School. Lincoln Elementary School is where the West Riviera Elementary students will go while their school is being updated and rebuilt by Wharton-Smith.
Finally, on August 10, the Wharton-Smith team helped distribute the backpacks to the students. The team had a chance to meet the kids, help them pick out their backpacks, and wish them a great school year. All agreed that it was amazing to see the children and how happy they were to be able to pick out their own backpacks.
Each colorful backpack represents a child who will pull out the notebook, folders, pencils, crayons, glue sticks, and more and go to work—learning, creating, and acquiring the basic building blocks of education all of us need to succeed. Wharton-Smith is a sponsor for West Riviera Elementary School and has partnered with the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County to encourage, inspire, guide, and give every child at West Riviera Elementary School the opportunity to realize and reach their full potential.
This three-part feel-good event provided an opportunity to collaborate with each other and give back to the community where we live, work, play, and learn.
