This holiday season, Wharton-Smith team members participated in the Habitat for Humanity Jingle Build-Off. The Jingle Build-Off event is an annual team-building tradition that combines festive creativity with community impact. Hosted as a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity Lake-Sumter, the event not only supports affordable housing solutions in Lake and Sumter Counties but also spreads holiday joy by providing Christmas gifts to families in need.
Team entry fees directly contribute to Habitat for Humanity’s mission, while the meticulously crafted playhouses built during the event are donated to local families for years of enjoyment. This year, a family that recently received their own Habitat Home was among the beneficiaries. With four children between the ages of four and 11, the family chose an alphabet and number theme for their playhouse. The Wharton-Smith Bay Laurel team brought this vision to life, adding thoughtful touches such as a basketball hoop, exterior wall games, and a custom Wharton-Smith picnic table.
“This year marks the fourth consecutive year of Wharton-Smith’s participation, and I’m proud to be part of this event,” said Denise Hatton, Jingle Build Team Lead. “There is nothing more gratifying than seeing the joy in the children’s eyes when the playhouse is revealed to them.”
We extend our gratitude to the dedicated project team members who made this year’s build a success.
