On July 23, Wharton-Smith celebrated its subcontractors and partners at the topping out ceremony for the new Osceola County Fire Station #43 – Campbell City. See photos.
Station 43, which was originally founded as the all-volunteer Campbell City Fire Department, became a combination station when EMS was added in 2002. The project, which broke ground in March, will move the existing Fire Rescue and EMS personnel to a purpose-built, efficient, and sustainable new station.
Attendees at the topping out enjoyed a catered barbecue lunch and received custom project t-shirts, giveaways, and raffle prizes. Special thanks go to our friends at DeWALT for showing off their tools and providing raffle prizes as well.
“This topping out celebrates more than a milestone in construction,” said Senior Project Manager Luke Green. “We’re honoring the future of public safety and service. This fire station stands as a symbol of dedication, courage, and community resilience. Here’s to the team who built it, the firefighters who will serve in it, and the community it will protect for generations to come.”
